The Department of Management was established almost 30 years ago, along with the creation of the Faculty of Management and Economics. For many years, it was led by Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Tubielewicz, and from 2011 to 2013, by Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng.
Department of Entrepreneurship is one of the youngest departments at the Faculty of Management and Economics, established in September 2010.
Department of Management Engineering and Quality was established in 2021 through the merger of the Department of Quality Sciences and the Department of Industrial Management.

The Department of Philosophy and Methodology of Sciences is a research and educational unit closely integrated with the Faculty of Management and Economics at Gdańsk University of Technology.
The Department of Finance was established by the Order of the Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, Prof. Edmund Wittbrodt, DSc, Eng., No. 9/96 dated May 15, 1996, with effect from October 1, 1996. Prof. Henryk Zalewski was appointed as the first head of the department.

During the conference, the latest research achievements related to income and wealth inequality will be presented from theoretical, empirical, and comparative perspectives. The role of public policy and technological progress in the evolution of inequality will be discussed, along with an examination of the economic and social consequences of rising inequality.
