The distinction for Professor Krystyna Gomółka

The Director of the Department of Education and Science of the City Council of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine awarded Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka with a distinction for fostering cooperation with educational and scientific institutions in Gdańsk and Zaporizhzhia. Cooperation between scientific institutions began in 2021 with the signing of an agreement between Gdańsk University of Technology and Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute

The initiator of this agreement was Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka. This year, Gdańsk University of Technology played a leading role in the Science Night organized by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute and the city council of Zaporizhzhia. Due to the pandemic, the event was conducted online. The Polish side was represented by Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka and Ms. Anna Modrzejewska, the head of the International Cooperation Center.

Dr. Eng. Anita Richert-Kaźmierska shapes senior policy in Poland

Dr. Eng. Anita Richert-Kaźmierska from the Faculty of Management and Economics was appointed by Beata Rutkiewicz, the voivode of Pomerania, to the position of plenipotentiary for family and social policy. In this role, she will initiate and coordinate cooperation with local government units in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in the field of social affairs

In addition, the new plenipotentiary's responsibilities will include initiatives for intergenerational integration and senior activation, combating discrimination and exclusion of people with disabilities, as well as supporting non-governmental organizations and developing social services. Since February 2024, Dr. Eng. Anita Richert-Kaźmierska has also been a permanent advisor to the Senior Policy Commission of the 10th term of the Sejm. Furthermore, on March 1, 2024, Minister of Senior Policy Marzena Okła-Drewnowicz appointed Dr. Eng.

Digital Citizens of Europe 4.0, Erasmus+ project

The Faculty of Management and Economics at the Gdansk University of Technology has launched the Digital Citizens of Europe 4.0 project funded under Erasmus+ Cooperation partnerships in adult education (KA220-ADU).

Europe is currently undergoing a profound digital transformation, driven by the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and robots. This is affecting the changing skills needs of current and future citizens. The future requires the development of not only basic digital skills, but also more advanced ones that allow flexible adaptation to the changes taking place. Improving the digital skills of EU citizens beyond the basic level is therefore crucial.

Gdańsk Tech Doctoral School has become a memeber of the PRIDE Network and EUA-CDE

Gdańsk Tech Doctoral School has become a member of two recognized international networks connecting doctoral schools: Pride Network and EUA (European University Association) - CDE (Council for Doctoral Education). 
PRIDE Network – Association for Professionals in Doctoral Education

The association was founded in 2017 and currently has 34 organizational members and 16 individual members from 20 different countries. The Doctoral School at GUT became the first member of the organization from Poland.

From the Lean World, meeting with Isao Yoshino, March 7

On March 7, we invite you to the next online meeting in the series From the World of Lean.


This time the meeting will begin with the broadcast of a 30-minute film telling the story of an experiment to combine the Japanese approach to production with the American labor model, which began in 1984 in Fremont, California. New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) is a company founded by General Motors and Toyota. The viewing of the film will be followed by a short lecture and discussion with Isao Yoshino, a long-time Toyota manager, eyewitness and active manager in the NUMMI experiment. 

The meeting will be held in English. 

Meeting with senior citizens from the Kolbudy municipality

On 9.02.2024, the Faculty of Management and Economics of PG hosted Seniors from the Kolbudy municipality from day-care centres run by the Gdańsk-based Foundation.

As part of the meeting, the Seniors had the opportunity to talk to Ewa Mazurek-Krasodomska, Ph.D., about the issues of the security of financial transactions and cyber-security, and Anita Richert-Kaźmierska, Ph.D., about how to recognize methods of influencing customers as part of so-called visual merchandising.

After the lectures, the Seniors visited the most interesting places on the Gdańsk Tech Campus with Mr Dariusz Kortas, a guide from the History Section.

Visit of the delegation from Northern Technical University

On February 6, 2024, we hosted a delegation from Northern Technical University, Mosul, Iraq.

The university is one of the leading higher education institutions in its region. It offers study programs in technical, natural, and computer sciences, as well as in business and administration. Northern Technical University is known for its high-quality education and commitment to the scientific and technological development of Iraq. During the visit, discussions were held regarding academic exchange of staff and students, cooperation within MBA programs, and dual degree arrangements.
