A groundbreaking study by Prof. Edward Szczerbicki and his team

We are pleased to announce that a groundbreaking publication, "Structure-Aware Causal Reasoning: A Neurosymbolic Framework for Counterfactual Inference in Large Language Models," has been published in the journal "International Journal of Approximate Reasoning." The authors are Maiqi Wang, Haoxi Zhang, and Prof. Edward Szczerbicki.

The renowned "International Journal of Approximate Reasoning" is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to artificial intelligence and methods for handling uncertainty and imprecision in data. It is highly rated on the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (140 points).

The title of Professor of Social Sciences for prof. Aleksanda Parteka

We are proud to announce that Prof. Aleksandra Parteka has been awarded the title of Professor of Social Sciences in the discipline of Economics and Finance by the President of the Republic of Poland.

Prof. Aleksandra Parteka has been affiliated with Gdańsk Tech since 2008. Her current research focuses on trade diversification, the impact of Global Value Chains (GVCs) and technological progress on labor markets and productivity, as well as variations in innovation activity across Europe and the world. She has authored numerous research papers and publications in economics journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. She also serves as a managing editor for the journal "Gospodarka Narodowa".

Katarzyna Stankiewicz, PhD, on 27th edition of the Ljubljana Summer School

From July 6 to 22, 2026, Katarzyna Stankiewicz, PhD,  from the Department of Human Capital at the Faculty of Management and Economics, Gdańsk Tech, taught classes as part of the 27th edition of the Ljubljana Summer School, organized by the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana. The Slovenian school belongs to the elite group of business schools holding "Triple Crown" accreditation: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA.

This year’s edition once again demonstrated the importance of grounding business education in an international environment. A total of 178 students from 27 countries and 6 continents participated in this edition of the Ljubljana Summer School. Over the course of two and a half weeks, they attended selected courses taught by lecturers representing 16 academic institutions from 11 countries worldwide.

WZiE study programs among the leaders in applications per place

Economic Analytics and Engineering Management are two programs at the Gdańsk University of Technology’s Faculty of Management and Economics that ranked among the top five programs with the highest number of applicants per place. In total, over 40,000 candidates applied to the university.

Competition for programs at the Faculty was fierce this year, particularly for these two: Engineering Management saw 23.4 applicants per place, while Economic Analytics had 20.6. The English-language version of Engineering Management was also highly popular, attracting over 12 applicants per place: a truly impressive result.

Our faculty has achieved Category A in the evaluation by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education!

Category A
We are pleased to announce that, following the evaluation of research quality conducted at our Faculty of Management and Economics for the 2022–2025 period, both disciplines: Economics and Finance, and Management and Quality Sciences were awarded Category A status, maintaining the high standing these disciplines have held since 2011. In total, Gdańsk Techn received nine Category A ratings and two Category A+ ratings!

These ratings not only demonstrate the high standing of Gdańsk Technand our Faculty among Polish universities but also open up numerous opportunities for the development of various disciplines. This is of immense importance to prospective students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff alike.

Katarzyna Stankiewicz, PhD, was invited to lead a workshop during the international EPT Summer Camp 2026, organized by ETH Zurich.


EPT (Educational and Personal Transformation) is an initiative supporting the development of doctoral students and young scientists (post-docs) conducting research in the areas of modern physical, material, and technological sciences. This year's edition was held under the theme "Transdisciplinarity and Self-Identification" and focused on competencies that support scientific career development, effective research collaboration, scientific communication, and functioning in international and interdisciplinary research teams.

Double Degree with Häme University of Applied Sciences (Finland)

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk Techn has signed a double degree agreement with Häme University of Applied Sciences (Finland).


This is the first agreement of this type in the history of the faculty covering undergraduate studies. As a result, students pursuing a Bachelor of Management degree at the Faculty of Management and Economics who choose to spend two semesters in Finland will also have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at HAMK.
