Welcome to the SEAS Project – the Study on Entrepreneurial Attitude of Students
What is SEAS?
The SEAS (Student Entrepreneurial Attitudes Survey) project is a panel study launched in 2008. It examines the entrepreneurial cognitions and attitudes of economics and business students. Started at the Faculty of Management and Economy at Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, the project has since expanded to include partners from universities across the Central and Eastern Europe region.
Methodology
The project applies established theories, concepts, and measurement methods in entrepreneurship research to ensure robust and reliable results. Over time, it has incorporated new frameworks and interdisciplinary approaches to remain aligned with evolving research paradigms. Students are surveyed at the start and end of their studies, enabling analysis of changes over time at both individual and group levels.
Significance
The project has facilitated valuable collaborations between researchers and resulted in several scientific publications in respected academic journals. By exploring what motivates young people to start businesses, it contributes to a deeper understanding of entrepreneurial behavior. These findings are both academically significant and practical, offering insights to help policymakers foster entrepreneurship in the economy.
PARTNERS AND COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITY
The SEAS project is led by Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, and supported by a network of esteemed academic institutions across Central and Eastern Europe. Our partners include:
- Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine
- Riga Technical University, Latvia
- Sofia University, Bulgaria
- Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania
These collaborations have played a key role in broadening the project’s scope and enhancing its research quality. By working together, we have gained diverse perspectives and strengthened the study’s impact.
We are always eager to establish new collaborations with researchers, academic institutions, and organizations interested in entrepreneurial studies. Partnering with us provides opportunities to conduct joint research, co-author academic papers, and gain access to the SEAS survey.
