Gdańsk Tech has achieved international accreditation from ACEEU

The Gdansk University of Technology has been awarded the "Engaged University Accreditation" certificate by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU). As a result, it is among the three Polish universities that can proudly hold the title of an engaged university. The certificate is granted to higher education institutions that carry out effective and innovative initiatives focused on making a positive impact on the social environment.

This is currently the only accreditation that assesses the social impact of a higher education institution on its environment, the quality of collaboration with external partners, the implementation of social responsibility, including sustainable development goals. The accreditation process at Gdansk University of Technology started in October 2021 and consisted of several stages, including self-assessment reporting, site visits and evaluations, and the provision of required information.

The ENHANCE+ project has received funding of 14.4 million euros.

The ENHANCE consortium, of which the Gdansk University of Technology has been a member since 2022, has received funding for the implementation of a four-year project under the Erasmus+ program's "European Universities" initiative. The European Commission has allocated a grant of 14.4 million euros to the alliance for activities spanning from 2024 to 2027.

The ENHANCE alliance was established in November 2019 as an association of seven European technical universities (three additional universities joined in 2022). The goal of ENHANCE is to create a European and interdisciplinary space for interaction between technological innovation, society, and the environment. The Gdansk University of Technology has been a member of ENHANCE since 2022. The consortium received funding in the new call for proposals under the "European Universities" initiative of the Erasmus+ program.

Advancement in the "Perspektywy" ranking

The Management program offered by the Faculty of Management and Economics is ranked as the 4th best program in Poland, while the Economics program has moved up from 10th to 7th position in the prestigious "Perspektywy" ranking.

The "Perspektywy" ranking is one of the most recognized rankings of Polish universities and academic faculties. It serves as a reliable source of information for students, parents, and employers, allowing for comparisons of institutions in terms of teaching quality, scientific research, and graduate outcomes. The advancement of our Faculty in this ranking is a prestigious distinction that highlights our commitment to the development of management and economics sciences.

Faculty Job Fair and a fashion show
On June 1, 2023, the Faculty of Management and Economics at Gdańsk University of Technology hosted the Faculty Job Fair and a fashion show by Ewa Marjańska, a lecturer from our faculty. The event focused on presenting employment opportunities, internships, and traineeships for students interested in developing their professional careers.

The theme of the fair was talent and career, suggesting that company representatives emphasized the importance of students' skills and potential in the context of their future career paths. Students had the opportunity to directly interact with employers, gather industry information and requirements, and showcase their competencies and experiences.

Gdańsk Tech in the forefront of Polish universities in THE Impact 2023 ranking

Once again Gdańsk University of Technology is among the top universities in Poland in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2023. It is the only global ranking based on the Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations. 

In the latest ranking, Gdańsk Tech was classified in the overall ranking and in eleven specific Sustainable Development Goals. In the general classification, last year’s position in the range of 601-800 was maintained, what means the 4th-8th place in Poland.

Universities from Australia (Western Sydney University), Great Britain (University of Manchester) and Canada (Queen's University) are at the top of the list.

Graduation ceremony, June 27

You are cordially invited to the graduation ceremony, which will take place on June 27, 2023, at 6:00 PM in the auditorium of the Main Building of Gdańsk University of Technology (3rd floor, building no. 1 on the Campus map).

We invite graduates of the Faculty of Management and Economics (accompanied by guests) who have successfully defended their theses between May 1, 2022, and April 30, 2023, to attend the event.

Partnership Agreement with Taipei Tech

On 2 March, Gdańsk University of Technology had the honor to host a delegation from the National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) – one of the leading technical universities of world renown. The representatives of the Taiwanese university were its President - Prof Sea-Fue Wang, Vice President – Distinguished Prof Thomas Chung-Kuang Yang, Dean of the Research and Development Office – Distinguished Prof Ho-Chiao Chuang, Ph.D. (ME), and Dean of the Office of International Affairs – Prof Tun Wen Pai. 

During the meeting with Gdańks Tech authorities - Rector Prof Krzysztof Wilde, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research Prof Sławomir Milewski, and Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation Prof Janusz Nieznański, the universities entered the Joint Research Protocol of Academic Collaboration agreement that paves the way toward joint research grants in materials engineering, environmental protection, eco-energy and eco-construction, electrical engineering, mechatronics, information technology, medical technology & biotechnology.

Second edition of the "Cycling to university" campaign

On 3 April the second edition of the "Cycling to university" campaign is launched. We invite all employees, students and doctoral students of Gdańsk Tech to join this action and change their transport habits.

The campaign is aimed at both active cyclists and those who think that commuting to work by bike, scooter or personal transport device (PTD) is not for them. Remember that you can get to university in many different ways, using more than one means of transport. Thanks to bicycle racks or park&ride transfer car parks, we can cover part of the route to Gdańsk Tech on two wheels, and then change to SKM, tram or bus.
