Sign up for yoga classes

The International Relations Office invites students and staff to sign up for the yoga classes organized as part of the "Hey, are you OK?" project. Registration is open until January 13th. The number of places is limited – it's worth hurrying!

If you were not able to enroll in yoga classes in the first autumn-winter edition nothing lost! We cordially invite you to register for meetings that will start in January and last until April.


How to sign up?

Registration for yoga classes will last from December 5th to January 13th. Dates of classes of individual groups:

group III (classes: 24.01, 7.02, 21.03, 21.03, 4.04 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)
group IV (classes: 31.01, 14.02, 28.03, 14.03, 28.03, 11.04 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)

St. Nicholas’ Day at Gdańsk Tech - we were all together

On 6 December the square in front of the Main Building turned into St. Nicholas’ town. It was lively, fun and crowded.

The Gdańsk Tech Christmas tree lit up symbolically, the queue of fans of gingerbread cookies and warming drinks was very long, and the Santa hit list with special dedications resounded throughout the meeting. There was also St. Nicholas himself with his sack full of gifts.

– Today, there is no rector, vice-rectors, lecturers or students here. We are one polytechnic community - said prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech - I wish you all a wonderful St. Nicholas’ day.

European technical universities

On 25 November, during ENHANCE Leadership Meeting in Aachen, the authorities of three universities received signed Memorandums of Understanding. Apart from Gdańsk University of Technology, new members included Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) and ETH Zurich (Switzerland)

Entering into the Alliance entails increased cooperation within the scope of research and teaching, aimed at forming a technical university with the highest level of education.

10th PSEZ Day at the Gdańsk University of Technology

Meetings of students and graduates with leading companies operating in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone will be held on November 24, 2022, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Employers will introduce the specifics of work and requirements for specific positions, answer questions related to the recruitment process and present their job, internships and apprenticeships offers.

Scholarships for the new students – apply now

First and second-degree international students who started their studies at Gdańsk Tech on a tuition fee payment basis in October 2022, may apply for a scholarship for outstanding academic achievement. Applications can be submitted until November 20, the results will be announced on December 9.

Applications for scholarships may be submitted by foreigners newly enrolled for I and II cycle studies on the tuition fee payment basis, according to Annexe to the Rector's Circular Letter No. 63/2020 of 10 December 2020. 

The best five bachelor students and the best three master students will receive a monthly scholarship in the amount of PLN 1250. The scholarship may be extended to the next academic year only after passing all the exams in due time.

How to detect a virus in immediate surroundings?

Researchers from Gdańsk University of Technology are working on an innovative technology for detection of SARS-CoV-2 and other influenza viruses in wastewater. Due to a simple and inexpensive solution, it is possible to increase the safety of institutions such as schools, kindergartens, or nursing homes. The project will receive almost PLN 800 thousand as part of the “Science for Society” program, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Wastewater analysis allows for a real-time monitoring of the social well-being. It is based on the assumption that substances and microorganisms excreted by the human organism can be identified and analyzed, and their quality and volume changes can be extremely useful when detecting i.a. social or infectious diseases. When it comes to epidemiological research, the wastewater-based analysis is particularly important as the clinical diagnosis resources are usually limited (e.g.
