Japan meets Europe: Intercultural Workshop on Digital Democracy & AI
The "Japan Meets Europe: Intercultural Workshop on Digital Democracy & AI (DDAI)" is a first-time forum for presenting, discussing, and demonstrating interdisciplinary research on innovations in democratic processes, applications, and practices through technology and AI.
The workshop is organized by Department of Informatics in Management at Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland. We invite paper submissions that explore the relationship between digital technology, AI, and democracy in a broad context. The workshop aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among scholars from various disciplines working on these topics.
We invite paper submissions on topics related to digital technology, democracy, ICT, and AI in a broad sense. We are especially interested in online discussions and public opinion, digital services, e-government and public administration, AI and governance, civic tech and political participation, regulation of tech platforms, and state repression and surveillance.
The workshop will be held in Gdańsk, and all presenters are expected to attend in person or online. The submission process is straightforward: the deadline for submitting paper abstracts is September 16, 2024. This clear timeline allows potential participants to plan their involvement effectively.
Please note that there are no registration fees for the workshop, but participants must cover their own accommodation and travel costs.
