In the second edition of the Great Climate Knowledge Test, 119 students from nine high schools participated at the Faculty of Management and Economics of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The event was organized by "Gazeta Wyborcza." The top participant turned out to be Dominik Walaszkowski, a third-year student from the Vocational and General Secondary Schools Complex in Kartuzy.

Students from Gdynia, Gdańsk, Reda, and Kartuzy took part in the initiative. The Great Climate Knowledge Test was simultaneously organized in six cities in Poland: Warsaw, Wrocław, Opole, Katowice, Lublin and Gdańsk.

During the event, Grzegorz Kubicki, the editor-in-chief of "Wyborcza Trójmiasto," emphasized the timeliness of climate issues, pointing out the increasingly frequent extreme phenomena such as fires, heavy rains, droughts, and floods. Dr. Barbara Wikieł, university professor and vice-rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, expressed joy at the young people's interest in the fate of the planet, calling them the hope for environmental preservation.

The test consisted of 60 questions, and participants had 60 minutes to answer them. After its completion, an interactive lecture by Dr. Magdalena Popowska on sustainable development in the fashion industry took place. Additional excitement came from a tiebreaker between two participants with the same number of points. Ultimately, the second place went to Paweł Grot, a student from the Third High School in Gdynia.

Dominik Walaszkowski, the test winner, highlighted the high level of questions, especially those related to economics. He also expressed concerns about fake news and climate myths spread on the Internet.

The winners received prizes such as tablets, smartphones, and e-book readers. In the school category, the best was ZSZiO in Kartuzy.
