Summary of the International Staff Week

International Staff Week
From May 22nd to 26th of this year, the International Staff Week took place at the Gdańsk University of Technology, bringing together scientists, educators, and staff members from partner universities. The main themes of the week were sustainable development, diversity, and well-being. The invited guests had the opportunity to explore both the current areas of our university's activities and its future directions, as well as to visit Gdańsk and spend a whole day experiencing the beauty of the Kashubia region.

The Faculty of Management and Economics actively participated in organizing the week, including preparing two workshops for the participants: "Integrating sustainable management into courses at HEIs" led by Dr. hab. Małgorzata Zięba, Prof., and Mr. Eljas Johansson, and "Diversity & Inclusion" led by Dr. Paweł Ziemiański and Dr. Katarzyna Stankiewicz. In addition to the official program, networking and social integration activities were also included, as well as a tour of the Faculty.

The International Staff Week brought together over 30 representatives from partner universities in 10 countries, including the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, Romania, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Italy.

During the event, a separate track was organized specifically for representatives from partner universities interested in establishing or deepening cooperation with our Faculty. As part of this track, in addition to the aforementioned workshops, the guests had the opportunity to visit the Amber Brewery, where they were received by the Marketing Director, Mr. Marek Skrętny.

Thanks to fruitful meetings, discussions were initiated regarding the signing of an interinstitutional agreement within the Erasmus+ program with universities from Estonia (Tallin University of Technology and Delta Management School of the University of Tartu), as well as the development of cooperation in the direction of dual diplomas with Hochschule Niederrhein.

The International Staff Week was held as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty.
