Sustainable development in Universities' activities

The idea of sustainable development assumes such a growth that, while meeting the needs of modern societies, will not at the same time limit the development possibilities of the future generations. It presumes a parallel development of the economy, society and the environment. The idea of sustainable development is present in our programme for many years, and we are always open to cooperate, share as well as explore new approaches into this crucial subject.

On March 1, 2022, we took part in an online National Scientific Conference entitled “Universities in the face of the challenges of sustainable development”. Its purpose was to present the activities and best organizational practices as well as the results of scientific research undertaken at universities in the area of sustainable development goals. The conference was organized by the Center for Sustainable Development Studies at the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź.

The International MBA in Strategy, Programme and Project Management studies also shared its voice during the event. Beata Krawczyk-Bryłka, PhD – MBA Programme Director and Paweł Ziemiański, PhD – MBA Lecturer in the speech entitled “Orangutans’ support – sustainable development in the International MBA programme at the Gdańsk University of Technology” presented the MBA’s activities. The Impact Project – the MBA’s gamification scheme that gathers students in common goal and Capstone Projects with social impact prepared as a part of final MBA dissertation were presented. Among the conference participants were representatives of the largest and most famous Polish universities.

We are enhanced by such a great interest, inspiring presentations and for the unique atmosphere of integration of the scientific community around the issues of sustainable development.
