Department of Management Engineering and Quality was established in 2021 through the merger of the Department of Quality Sciences and the Department of Industrial Management.
The team focuses on the following areas:
- Quality management of products and services
- Management of innovative processes
- Process improvement using Lean Management, Six Sigma, and Lean Six Sigma concepts
- Normative management systems
- Corporate social responsibility and sustainable development
- Production management
- Logistics process management
- Project management
- Product quality, including food quality and safety
The team consists of business practitioners and specialists with extensive professional experience. The employees of the Department hold various specialized certifications and professional qualifications related to their subjects.

Research The aim of scientific research conducted at the Department of Industrial Management and Quality is to continually update and develop theories and establish effective and efficient practical solutions in the area of process design, supervision, and improvement, as well as their outcomes for business sectors and public services.

Education The staff of the Department of Industrial Management and Quality conduct educational courses at the Faculty of Management and Economics for both full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate programs in the following majors:
- Economic Analytics
- Bachelor in Management
- International Management
- Management
- Engineering Management
In addition to teaching at the home faculty, the staff also conduct classes at other departments of the Gdańsk University of Technology.
The department also offers other training courses and postgraduate studies, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, operational management in enterprises, quality assurance in the technical industry, agile management, event management, creativity management, managing healthcare institutions, and project and program management in healthcare.
The department supervises engineering, master's, and doctoral theses in both Polish and English. The topics of theses are determined by individual staff members.
Modern, specialized software is used during classes, and active teaching methods such as simulation games, project tasks, and implementation tasks are employed.
