Conference of the Europe 4.0 Digital Citizens Project
Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, quantum computing – these concepts increasingly appear in both professional and everyday life, yet they are still mostly associated with the world of IT specialists. The Europe 4.0 Digital Citizens project was created to change that. Its goal is to make emerging technologies understandable and accessible to everyone, including people without a technical background.
As part of the project, a free online course has been developed, available in seven European languages, which participants can complete at their own pace. The course includes modules on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, robotics, augmented reality, the metaverse, quantum computing, and 5G/6G networks.
What will happen during the conference?
Conference participants will have the opportunity to:
- discover the structure and content of the free online course,
- explore the individual thematic modules of the course,
- see how advanced technologies can be presented in an accessible, non-technical way,
- find out how the skills acquired can be assessed and recognised through a microcredential certificate,
- hear about the experiences of learners and project partners from across Europe who have put the course into practice,
- take part in a discussion on the digital skills citizens will need in the changing world of work.
Who should attend?
The event is addressed to a broad audience: students and adult learners, teachers and university educators, trainers and career counsellors, adult learning professionals, public employment service staff, HR and training professionals, researchers, and organisations working on digital inclusion and lifelong learning.
Participation does not require an ICT or technical background, and the number of places is limited.
