Methodology in Science of Science: Between Theory and Empirical Applications

On 12 June 2026, Gdańsk University of Technology will host a specialized workshop dedicated to methodological approaches in studying science and knowledge systems. The event is organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the at the Faculty of Management, Gdansk Tech University.

Designed for PhD students and early-career researchers in the social sciences and humanities, the workshop also welcomes scholars conducting empirical research on science and higher education. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, covering topics such as bibliometric analysis, research efficiency, qualitative methods, publication strategies and open science.

Participants will engage in interactive sessions, case studies, and practical analyses designed to strengthen methodological skills and foster interdisciplinary exchange.
