Habilitation Degree for Magdalena Popowska, Ph.D., D.Sc.
We extend our sincerest congratulations on behalf of the Dean, Małgorzata Gawrycka, Ph.D., D.Sc., Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, and the entire academic community. We wish success in the further development of her academic career and satisfaction from each new research project.
Magdalena Popowska Ph.D., D.Sc., is a research and teaching staff member at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology and an expert in the fields of organizational development and entrepreneurship. For many years, she has been actively involved in fostering the university’s international cooperation. From 2008 to 2016 she served as Vice-Dean for International Affairs and External Relations and subsequently as the Dean’s Representative for International Cooperation.
She was a member of the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology for two terms, including serving as Chair of the Senate Committee for Internationalization. She has also gained international academic experience as a visiting scholar at European and Chinese universities. She is appointed as an expert in sustainable development by the Foundation for Polish Science and as an expert evaluator of applications for the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Since 2020, she has been a member of the Working Group for University Social Responsibility at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.
The research interests of. Magdalena Popowska Ph.D., D.Sc., focus on corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, and entrepreneurship education. She is the author of the monograph Greening Higher Education in Europe: Institutional Transitions to Sustainable Development (Routledge, 2024), which constituted the main scholarly achievement in her habilitation procedure. She participates in numerous international research and educational projects funded by the European Union, including programs such as TEMPUS, INTERREG, Erasmus+, and Horizon.
