Annual Hanse-Parlament Assembly and international conference in Gdańsk

Annual Hanse-Parlament
On 17–19 September 2025, Gdańsk hosted the annual Assembly of the Hanse-Parlament, an organisation bringing together chambers of crafts, commerce, industry and universities from 13 countries of the Baltic Sea region and Northern Europe. The event was accompanied by the international conference “Securing skills and innovations for SMEs”, focusing on workplace innovation and the potential of dual education as a key driver of growth for small and medium-sized enterprises.

In addition to plenary discussions, the programme included thematic workshops and working meetings of project teams cooperating under the Hanse-Parlament framework. A special focus was placed on the BA&VET project, in which Gdańsk University of Technology plays an active role.

The University was represented by Dr. Eng. Marzena Grzesiak, Professor at Gdańsk Tech, who serves as the BA&VET project leader. The project, running from December 2022 to November 2025, is dedicated to developing innovative dual bachelor’s programmes that combine vocational training, lifelong learning and academic education. It places a strong emphasis on sustainable management and climate and environmental protection technologies, aiming to train urgently needed specialists, managers and entrepreneurs.

The participation of Gdańsk University of Technology in BA&VET and in the Hanse-Parlament activities highlights the University’s commitment to advancing modern education models, strengthening international cooperation and supporting innovation in the SME sector
