The distinction for Professor Krystyna Gomółka | Faculty of Management and Economics at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The initiator of this agreement was Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka. This year, Gdańsk University of Technology played a leading role in the Science Night organized by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute and the city council of Zaporizhzhia. Due to the pandemic, the event was conducted online. The Polish side was represented by Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka and Ms. Anna Modrzejewska, the head of the International Cooperation Center. On this occasion, the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology prepared a film titled "About Taxes," which was shown on billboards in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Professor Gomółka also facilitated the establishment of scientific contacts between the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automatics at Gdańsk University of Technology and the Electrical Faculty at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute. The result was a visit by scientists from Zaporizhzhia to Gdańsk University of Technology from December 2nd to 6th, 2021. After the outbreak of hostilities in 2022, Professor Gomółka actively participated in organizing material aid for the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Employees of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute, teachers, school principals, and the deputy mayor of Zaporizhzhia took part in another event, Welcome to Gdańsk Tech, which took place on March 16-17, 2023, at the Faculty of Management and Economics. The next visit of teachers and scholars also took place at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology on June 13-14, 2023. During the meeting, the educational offer of the Faculty of Management and Economics was presented, and at the Pomeranian Teacher Training Center in Gdańsk, the delegation attended several Polish language classes. There were also discussions about signing an agreement between the education and science departments of the cities of Gdańsk and Zaporizhzhia.

In September 2023, the Faculty of Management and Economics once again actively participated in the international event Science Night organized by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Institute and the city council of Zaporizhzhia. The Polish side was represented by Professor Dr. hab. Krystyna Gomółka – the main organizer, as well as lecturers Dr. Katarzyna Kubiszewska and Dr. Piotr Kasprzak.

Currently, discussions are underway regarding further cooperation activities between the universities.
