Science Studies, as an area of interdisciplinary research on science, encompasses both theoretical studies and practical issues related to the organization of scientific institutions. Within the research scope of science studies are studies on science and technology policy, higher education, especially the theory and methodology of science and technology, sociology of science, studies on the organization and economics of science and technology. The scope of activities of the Committee on Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences includes general economic theory, history of economic thought, issues related to the functioning and development of the economies of Central and Eastern European countries."
