The advancement of Gdańsk Tech in THE World University Rankings | Faculty of Management and Economics at the Gdańsk University of Technology

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 included 1904 universities from 108 countries. Another 769 universities were not classified in the ranking but were given the "reporter" status, indicating that they provided data but did not meet the ranking criteria.

This year's ranking edition was based on a new methodology called WUR 3.0, which incorporates 18 carefully calibrated indicators grouped into five areas:

1. Teaching (learning environment) – 29.5% weight
2. Research environment (size, income, and reputation) – 29%
3. Research quality (citation impact, research strength, research excellence, and research influence) – 30%
4. Internationalization (faculty, students, and research) – 7.5%
5. Industry (income and patents) – 4%.

In the latest edition of the ranking, Gdańsk University of Technology advanced to the position within 1001-1200, sharing the 5th position (ex aequo with 9 other Polish universities) out of 37 Polish universities classified in the ranking.

Our university significantly improved its overall score from 18.4-24.3 (in 2023) to 28.3-32.6 in this year's ranking edition. This marks the largest YoY increase in the overall score for Gdańsk University of Technology in the history of this ranking.
