Open lecture “Free Trade vs. Protectionism” with Professor Lawrence Reed

The Club of the Austrian School of Economics (KASE) Gdańsk and the Scientific Club of Innovation of the FME, would like to invite you to a meeting to be held on Thursday, April 25 at 18:00 in room 103 at the Faculty of Management and Economics of the Gdańsk Tech.

The speaker of the lecture will be Lawrence Reed, Professor Emeritus of Economics, who is a former chairman of the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) and a former fellow of the American Mises Institute.

The topic of the lecture, “Free Trade vs. Protectionism” deals with extremely topical issues related to foreign trade and protectionism.

Professor Reed has a long-standing connection with Poland, as he has supported Polish efforts to regain independence and sovereignty since the 1980s and has been repeatedly involved in the popularization or development of pro-market activities in Poland — both academically and socially. In addition, and worth strongly emphasizing, Professor Reed was recently awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, the highest Polish decoration that can be bestowed on a foreigner, by Mr. President Andrzej Duda, for his zealous and self-sacrificing assistance in anti-communist activities and support of Polish freedom traditions.
