The main task of KEJN is to make an assessment in the following areas, with reference to international standards:
1. research and creative achievements;
2. research capacity;
3. tangible effects of research activity;
4. other effects of research activity.
As a result of the evaluation, the Minister assigns the following research categories to research institutions: A + - lead level; A - very good; B - satisfactory level with a recommendation of improvement of the research, research and development activities or activities stimulating the innovation of the economy; C - unsatisfactory level.
In 2017, the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology received category A in the parametric assessment.
