Department of Economics

Today's economies are incredibly complex systems in which changes occur at a rapid, sometimes difficult to grasp, pace. Analyzing them requires an approach based on diverse research methods applied at multiple levels. The effects of economic growth and development also have varied characteristics, not always positive from the perspective of societies and the natural environment.

Research conducted on various aspects of the economy is one of the key scientific areas of the Faculty of Management and Economics. It encompasses both micro and macroeconomic levels, focusing on individual enterprises, sectors, national economies, and the global economy.

The Department of Economics conducts scientific research and educational activities that encompass various dimensions of economic activity, including not only economic aspects but also social, environmental, and ethical considerations.

Team The Department of Economics, in its current form, was established in 2021 as a result of the division of the Department of Economic Sciences. However, its roots can be traced back to the early days of the Faculty of Management and Economics and the former units conducting scientific and educational activities in the field of economics. The department currently consists of titular professors, university professors, assistant professors, and doctoral students. A significant part of the scientific and educational activities is carried out in international cooperation, as evidenced by numerous international research and educational projects, as well as the involvement of visiting professors in the department's work.
