Michał Wiliński is a Chief Technology Officer at Nexpertis, with over 8 years of experience specializing in business process optimization and digitalization within the corporate sector. As a technology leader, he manages teams of specialists and is responsible for the implementation strategy of advanced enterprise-grade systems based on low-code technology, with a particular emphasis on the WEBCON BPS platform.

Start of admission and your tasks

Enrolments within the standard admission start on 27th April 2026 in the University's admission system. This is the time when you should:  

  1. Create an account in the admission system.  

  1. Upload the required documents (scans).  

  1. Pay the admission fee.  

  1. Submit (send) the completed admission form.  

Training session: Knovel database

Knovel database
The Knovel database provides access to 35 subject collections and enables the use of specialized resources in the fields of technical sciences and engineering, including materials data and analytical tools. A training session on how to use this database will take place on April 14.

We invated you to the Knovel database training session on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The meeting is scheduled at the Branch Library of the Gdańsk University of Technology: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, room 2/10. The training will be conducted by Christian Vier.

International Trefl Innovation Week

International Trefl Innovation Week
The international Trefl Innovation Week hackathon took place in Gdańsk on March 23–26, 2026. It was an initiative connecting academia and business around a real-world design challenge for students.

Forty students from partner universities participated in the event, including:

  • Gdańsk University of Technology
  • HAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland)
  • Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (Latvia)
  • Hochschule Niederrhein (Germany)

On the first day, students learned about the history of Gdańsk University of Technology and interesting facts about the university during a campus tour led by Katarzyna Stankiewicz, PhD.

On Wednesday, March 4, during the ceremonial meeting of the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology held in the Main Auditorium of the university, the Rector, Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, awarded academic promotions.

We are pleased to announce that the academic promotions were granted to individuals who obtained their academic titles or degrees in 2025. At the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk Tech, the promotions were awarded to:

  • Ph.D. Marta Kuc-Czarnecka, Prof. Gdańsk Tech,

  • Ph.D. Dagmara Nikulin, Prof. Gdańsk Tech,

International Conference: Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIMed) 2026

We warmly invite you to the International Conference Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIMed) 2026, which will take place 7–9 May 2026 in Kraków and online.

We welcome everyone interested in artificial intelligence and data analysis, especially students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, experts, and members of teams and initiatives related to AI, data science, and new technologies. The event is international in scope and will be conducted in English.

Weinvite you to the public defense of the doctoral dissertation of Eljas Johansson, entitled "(Un)disclosed sustainability: a critical analysis of airline climate disclosures."

The defense will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1:15 PM in room 110/111 of the Faculty of Management and Economics, Traugutta Street 79, Gdańsk.

The thesis supervisor is Małgorzata Zięba, PhD, DSc, Professor of Gdańsk Tech. The doctoral dissertation and reviews are available in the Reading Room of the Main Library of the Gdańsk Tech, Gdańsk, G. Narutowicza Street 11/12.

Joanna Czerska, Ph.D, awarded in the World Education Summit 2026 in Dubai

The 35th edition of the Elets World Education Summit Awards 2026 took place in Dubai on February 4–5. Joanna Czerska, PhD, from the Department of Management Engineering and Quality received the Education Impact Leadership Award. She was among 100 winners from 47 countries.

At the Elets World Education Summit, academia, education leaders, community organizations, and public institutions from around the world gather to discuss the future of education. During the event, awards are presented to individuals who have a real impact on the development of education and the skills of the future.

The Education Impact Leadership Award, awarded to Joanna Czerska, PhD, honors leaders whose actions translate into a real change in teaching approaches and prepare young people for the challenges of the modern world. The jury recognized:
