Our goal is to engage in a dialogue about the organisation's impact on society and to contribute to the idea of sustainable development.
Our motivation stems from a number of factors. Firstly, the Gdańsk University of Technology has for many years supported the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as set out in the Resolution adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on 25 September 2015. There are 17 of these in total.
As an academic institution with research status, Gdańsk University of Technology is an organisation that serves its environment, and the implementation of sustainable development goals has been written into its Development Strategy. In 2017, the University signed the nationwide Declaration of Social Responsibility of Universities and has since participated in the work of the Working Group operating under the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, actively pursuing the mission of social responsibility.
The Faculty of Management and Economics and its staff co-implement the strategy of the Gdańsk University of Technology and undertake initiatives in the area of social responsibility and sustainable development. The Faculty is a member of, among others, CEEMAN and RRBM organisations, promoting the formation of responsible leaders and the conscious influence of the university on the social and economic environment.
In 2019, the Faculty joined the PRME Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative - the world's largest initiative enabling the cooperation between the United Nations and business schools. Hub dla ZiEmi supports the implementation of the PRME principles and ensures the dissemination and reporting of the activities undertaken.
