About me: I am an associate professor and head of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management and Economics at Gdansk University of Technology (Gdansk, Poland). I am a member of the School Council at the Doctoral School at Gdańsk University of Technology where I represent economic sciences.
I got my MSc degree in Economics from Gdansk University of Technology (2003) and Universita’ Politecnica delle Marche (2005), as well as MA degree in Contemporary European Studies from Sussex University (2006, with distinction). I received my PhD in Economics in 2008 from Universita’ Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy). In the academic year 2011/2012 I was a post-doc visiting researcher in the Department of Economics and Business at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). In July 2016 I got a habilitation in economics (for which I received the Award of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education). In 2018 I was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar (Senior Award) at University of California, Berkeley (USA).
My research interests: international economics (international trade); the impact of trade, integration, and technological progress on labour markets and productivity, economic growth. I am currently involved in research on GVC-labour markets interactions and, as Principal Investigator, in a project on Technological specialisation and productivity divergence in the age of digitalisation, automation and AI.
